NCD Sports

 

On an overcast Wednesday morning, 21 Wedderburn College students attended the NCD Athletic Sports in Charlton. Without any Whole School Athletic Sports to use as a lead in due to rain ruining the initial date as well as the back up date, the enthusiasm and eagerness to compete was fantastic. The rain held off for the most part but the wet grass made some events difficult to get traction. We had a number of students win and place in events, as well as lots of students enter additional events to boost our point total on the day. The most pleasing aspect of the day was the way that ALL Wedderburn College students represented their school extremely well with excellent behaviour and attitude.

  • Junior Whyman (2nd) - 800m, (3rd) – 100m, (3rd) – Shot Put, (1st) – Javelin
  • Eli Clarke (2nd) - Shot Put
  • Amelia Buschmann (3rd) - 100m, (2nd) Long Jump, (3rd) – 200m
  • Dylan Caruana (2nd) - 100m, (2nd) – 200m, (2nd) – 400m, (2nd) – High Jump, (1st) – Long Jump
  • Kayla Cramp (2nd) - High Jump, (1st) - 100m, (3rd) – Long Jump
  • Neve Nisbet (3rd) – 100m
  • Olivia Lockhart (1st) – 1500m
  • Female 20yr 4x100m Relay (2nd By a nose!) – Amelia Buschmann, Olivia Lockhart, Neve Nisbet, Aliza Lockhart

 

We also had 2 Age Group Champions for the day. Congratulations:

A massive thank you to Miss Milne, Mr Gretgrix and Laura for helping out in the leadup and on the actual day. It was a fantastic day given students have not had the opportunity to compete at NCD Athletics due to Covid Restrictions over the past few years. Well done to everybody, you should be proud of your efforts.
