IMPORTANT SUNSMART INFORMATION

It is time for our students to start wearing hats during recess, lunchtime and during any activities where they will be outside.

We have a No Hat, No Play rule at Oatlands as part of our SunSmart Policy, which aligns with current SunSmart guidelines. Our No Hat, No Play rule will be enforced from the beginning of September (officially starting Monday 5th September) until the end of April. This means that students without hats to wear will not be allowed to go outside during recess and lunchtime.

Student must be wearing a hat that adheres to our Uniform Policy, which states that hats must be either wide brimmed or legionnaire style in the school colours of maroon or navy blue. Baseball caps or hats with excessive print are unacceptable.

Please ensure that your children have their hat at school during these times.

Thank you for your support.

Grandparent’s Afternoon Is Back.

Hi everyone,

We are super excited to be able to invite grandparents back to Oatlands to spend some time visiting classrooms, playing games, doing activities and interacting with our students. It is an event we have definitely missed the last few years.

The afternoon will take place on Friday 2nd September, 2.30pm onwards.

We ask that grandparents attending enter the school through the main gate at the front office. Our school leaders will escort and direct grandparents to the correct classrooms.

There is parking around the school, however please follow parking rules and signage as we do not want grandparents being fined, putting a dampener on the afternoon.

Staff and students are not required to wear masks. It is highly recommended that all visitors attending Grandparents’ Afternoon wear a mask to protect themselves.

We look forward to seeing all those that can attend.

2022 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. We encourage all families to participate in this survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents/caregivers/guardians have been selected to participate in this year’s survey.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 15th August to Friday 16th September.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.
