Sport Around the Grounds
PDSSSC Athletics Championships
Earlier this month we sent a team of 30 students to compete in the PDSSSC Athletics Championships at Homebush. All students competed well and represented St Luke’s with such great pride. Many personal bests were achieved throughout the day.
A special congratulations to the following students:
Salote - First in discus and shot put and for breaking an event record that was in place since 2009.
Liam - First in long jump
Viliami - Second in discus
Clarise - Third in long jump
Both Liam and Salote have now qualified for the NSWCCC Athletics Championships and we wish them the best of luck next month when they compete against athletes from all over NSW.
School Sport Australia Swimming Championships
Congratulations to James from Stage 3 who qualified to be part of the NSWPSSA swimming team. James travelled to Brisbane to compete against athletes from all over Australia. James and his team placed 3rd in the 200m freestyle. A wonderful achievement!
MacKillop Boys Cricket Trials - Wagga Wagga
Congratulations to Nishaan from Stage 3 who has been selected to be a part of the Parramatta Diocesan Boys Cricket team. This is a huge achievement and we wish Nishaan the best of luck as he travels to Wagga Wagga next week to participate in the MacKillop Boys Cricket Trials.
Stage 2 and Stage 3 Girls Netball Gala Day
On Wednesday 24th August we had two teams participate in the St Nicholas Netball Gala Day. This gala day saw our teams compete against other primary schools from the Parramatta Diocese. Both teams displayed great teamwork throughout the day and had a lot of fun. Well done to all students who participated.
Thursday PDSSSC Representative Sport (Year 7 - 10)
Season two of rep sport has now concluded. Season three rep trials are currently underway and it has been great to see so many students trialling for the various sports on offer. Season three will commence on Thursday 8/9 and will see us compete in the following sports-
- Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 Boys Cricket
- Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 Boys Oz Tag
- Year 7/8 Girls Oz Tag
- Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 Girls Basketball
