CLAY PIGEON CLUB

What's been happening!

Lots of activities have been happening with students that have been regularly attending Melbourne Clay Target Club and other venues in connection with Clay Pigeon Club.

We have continued with our monthly school mini competitions.  Some of the recent winners and pictures are shown below.

Five students travelled to Bainsdale for the Riverina Interschool Competition. Riley Hughes-Gage came second in the Junior Boys.

Recently, 12 of our students competed at the Victorian South Eastern Zone Interschool competition.

Our team of 5 students, Caleb Thompson, Ben De-Pedro, Dylan Naylor, Riley Hughes-Gage and Nathan Rogers won the teams event and will now represent the South Eastern Zone at the Victorian State Championships to be held at Echuca in September.

At the same event, Riley won the Junior event and Dylan was second in the same age group. Both boys now have the honour of being invited to represent the South Eastern Zone at the State Championship.

Below are some pictures of our proud students who represented  LHS at this event.

Special mention to Ben De-Pedro whohas been regularly competing at events most weekends, both around the state and also interstate.  He has established himself as a very competent and well-respected competitor as he shoots in the A Grade division against some of the most accomplished shooters in the state.  The calibre of his ability is reflected in some of the high-profile events that he has either won or has been placed in.

Recently, Ben narrowly missed out on being chosen in the Uni-Trench team to travel to Europe to represent Australia, but I am confident that you will see his name on the team sheet next year.

Among other notable achievements, Ben recently won the Open Ball Trap event at Korumburra Gun Club for the South East Zone. This is a rather difficult Olympic event that has 2 targets released simultaneously.  Ben was then picked in the team to represent the zone along with other adult members at Echuca for the State Championships.
