An Update On Our Parish Mission Program

Parents may remember earlier this year we wrote to our Parish School Communities about a new direction for our Parish. This was the Mission program which was to investigate ways of re-energising our Parish.

Our Mission team would like to update our school families by holding a short presentation and discussion meeting in which we can impart some information but, more importantly, we can canvass some suggestions and listen to the needs of our school families. Some of the points of interest that have arisen from our small group Parish meetings held earlier this year include the following.

• Youth Group and/or Youth Group Choir
• Opportunities to mix socially between school and parish families
• Reaching out to families in times of need
• A combined Parish and School fete
• A greater use of the parish hall for social events such as Bingo, Trivia nights, St Pat’s Day Dance, etc

With this in mind, we are planning to hold a Mission Meeting afternoon session at each school. The dates are –

St Brigid’s Tuesday September 6th in the Parish Hall at 2:40pm

Holy Cross Tuesday September 13th in the Multipurpose Room at 3:00pm.

We welcome as many parents or carers as possible!
