Enter the Wellbeing Zone

Welcome to the Wellbeing Zone. When you enter the zone, you will find a wealth of information about all the things happening in the Wellbeing space at Sunshine Heights PS as well as strategies, articles, book recommendations and events that will help build our dream and culture of Wellbeing throughout our school community, inside and outside of school, so that we can sail together through a universe of possibilities with all the emotional and social skills we need to thrive.

From Me to YOU.

A big thank you to all of our families for their amazing support over Term 2. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child and we are very grateful for the beautiful village that is Sunshine Heights Primary School.

The holidays can be a beautiful time to breathe, reconnect and find joy outside of the more scheduled term times. To take us into the holidays, in this week's newsletter, I have included some great free or budget activities that are happening over the holidays, some wellbeing tools to support the family over the holidays, as well as the Wellbeing choice boards and bingo boards that were used during remote learning, in case you're looking for some calming activities and ways to fill the tank back up over the holidays.

We hope you have an amazing holiday break and we can't wait to see you in Term 3 for another wild and magic ride.

With love,

Francine

Wellbeing Resources for the Home

The holidays are a good time to develop some good Wellbeing practices at home, particularly around managing our emotions. I recently discovered these two great resources around developing family plans that can help scaffold emotional situations in the home and identifying how we are feeling!

 WARRIORS

Our Wellbeing Warriors were formally presented with their badges and certificates at our final assembly on Friday 25th June. Congratulations to all of them!

BREAKFAST CLUB STARTS TERM 3

Woohoo! Even though we semi-started Breakfast Club with loads of deliveries of fruit and carrots to classrooms this term, we are SO excited to launch the full Breakfast Club and kick things off in Term 3. A massive thank you to our volunteer parents for helping us get this off the ground!

Breakfast Club will start on Monday 12th July and will run everyday in Term 3 from 8:30-8:55AM

Cereals and fruit will be served outside of the canteen in the Specialist Hub. To access Breakfast Club from 8:30AM, you will need to enter the school via the main entrance at Mailey Street. All other gates will be closed until their usual opening time of 8:40AM.

All students and families are welcome to Breakfast Club! Students must be accompanied to Breakfast Club by a parent/carer/guardian/adult and supervised until 8:45AM when teachers are on yard duty.

We can't wait to see you all there for some banter and breakfast!
