COVID Safety

Keeping connected on safety...

Student Health:

  • Notify the school if your child is quarantining or has contracted COVID-19
  • If your child presents with flu-type symptoms they should stay at home and get COVID tested immediately, get a doctor’s certificate and isolate until a negative test is returned
  • If your child develops any symptoms whilst at school, you will receive a phone call to pick up your child immediately. You must be responsive to these phone calls (so check your emergency contacts as they will get a call if we cannot reach you)

Drop Off and Pick Up:

  • Drop Off: Parents and carers, please do not enter the school yard at morning drop off times
  • Pick Up: Parents to socially distance and keep masks on, but stay on grass area in the forecourt. Kids will still come to the steps to be dismissed as per usual. Please leave as soon as you have picked up your child. Don’t stay with your child while they play in the yard or on the equipment
  • At drop off and pick up times, wear your mask at all times and do not congregate in clusters
  • Unless you get permission, do not enter the school building (if you do, you must QR code and record all details at the office)

Safety Measures:

  • Students are not required to wear face masks, but may choose to if they wish
  • Parents and carers, please wear face masks when travelling to and from school on public transport and at all times when in proximity to the school
  • Encourage your child and make sure you sneeze into elbow and use tissues (washing hands after sneezing)
  • Show your child (again and again) how to wash hands properly
  • We will use non-contact greetings (waving rather than shaking hands)

Community Involvement:

  • No parent helpers are allowed at this stage
  • No excursions and incursions are allowed at this stage – we will defer these activities and take care of finances later
  • OSHClub can resume as normal and can be booked online

A reminder that if you, your child, or a family member develops symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested at a COVID-19 testing facility and stay home.

Each family should regularly check the list of public exposure sites in Victoria (where a person with COVID-19 has attended), and if anyone in the family has attended a site at the times listed, follow the instructions given.

If you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, please check out the website for information and bookings. Like getting tested if you have symptoms, getting vaccinated goes a long way to keeping our communities safe and schools open.

The wellbeing of all our students is our priority and our school staff are here to support you and your family.  Information that might be of assistance to you in talking to your child about COVID-19 is available.
