Getting it right in Reading!
Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge 2021
A reminder for parents and families that the Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge is STILL OPEN! The challenge will continue until the 17th September 2021.
During Remote Learning 5.0, teachers and ES staff will continue to post videos reading aloud different texts on Class Story or the School Story. If students watch these videos, you can register this on the PRC website as a book that was read. Some will be books from the booklist, others will be choice books.
Books that students have taken home, or are on Wushka or Epic!, can also be registered on the website.
If you have an online membership with the Melton Library, we encourage you to have a look and access some of the PRC books on here.
If you Google some of the picture story book titles from the booklist, you will find that there are many read alouds of these books on You Tube available.

We REALLY value your support in taking up the challenge at home.
Children from Prep to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ 30 books with their parents and teachers. 20 of these (or more) from the challenge book lists.
Children from Year 3 to Year 6 are challenged to read 15 books. 10 of these (or more) from the challenge book lists.
All children who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers. We would love to see ALL MWPS students receive a certificate!
