CAREERS

Our Careers Program has had interruptions due to recent restrictions, however, we’re working hard behind the scenes to ensure all programs will be rescheduled.

All students from year 9 - 12 are encouraged to check out the 2021 Open Day schedules and to make time to participate in on campus or online Open Day activities.

A list of Open Days can be found on the Collingwood Careers website .

YEAR 9

Both the My Careers Insights and the Real Industry Job Interview programs have been postponed due to the current health restrictions.  New dates are being established and will be communicated when confirmed.

There is still time for guardians to return permission forms for the My Careers Insights  program.

Students must have the required permissions before participating. Forms are available online (see https://ceav.vic.edu.au/media/250849/parent-consent-form.pdf).

It is anticipated that the Real Industry Job Interview (RIJI) program will take place on 14 September for 9A and 9B and the following week for 9C.  Watch Compass and email for more information when we can confirm closer to the time.

YEAR 10

Year 10 Careers Week commenced during home learning from 26 July and moved back to on-campus mid week!  The students showed great enthusiasm and flexibility in changing ‘modes’ half way through the week.

The week gave students the opportunity to explore their senior pathways, reflect on their career plans and goals, meet (virtually) with representatives from ACU and La Trobe University and prepare for their year 11 and 12 subject selections.

YEAR 11

Our Year 11s are finalising arrangements for year 12 studies and are encouraged to check out the 2021 Open Day schedules to investigate options for 2023.

YEAR 12

Our year 12 students are now able to open their VTAC accounts if they are planning to apply for tertiary study in 2022. Information sessions have been provided in class and each student  will receive an invitation to a careers appointment over the coming weeks.

A reminder that tertiary Open Days are a great opportunity for students to learn about their preferred tertiary courses. Check out the 2021 Open Day schedules and to make time to participate in on campus or online Open Day activities.  A list of Open Days can be found on the Collingwood Careers website

Remember to look to each institute for program changes and registration details.

There are resources available for students and parents alike to navigate the VTAC processes.
