Department of Education and Training Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) Applications

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

Payment amounts this year are $125 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing at the school in 2021.

If you would like to apply for the first time or have any further questions, please speak to the office.

Sick Bay Linen Roster - Volunteers Needed

We have had a couple of offers of help for our Sick bay Linen Roster; thank you very much to those people.  We are still in need of some more people to fill the roster.

This special task requires helpers to change the Sick Bay bed linen (and cold-pack covers) at the end of each week, take home used linen for washing and return clean linen the next week. With plenty of volunteers, you should only be rostered on twice a year.  This is a necessary job to ensure the health and safety of all students who might use the First Aid Room and we appreciate the assistance of those parents who generously help out with this.

If you would be able to help, please call in at the Office or email Raelene.Davis@education.vic.gov.au by Friday 26th February 2021.

Visitors to The School

All visitors to the school must first report to the school office to sign in via our QR code. This is a school policy and is for the safety of all students, staff and visitors to the school.

It is now a requirement that all visitors to the school, including parent volunteers, carry their current Working with Children Check card with them at all times. On signing in at the office, you will be required to present your card for verification.

Student Absences/Attendance

We urge you to be sure that your child's information is always kept up to date (this can be updated via the Compass App.) If sickness or injury occurs at school, every effort is made to contact a parent. If this is not possible, we will contact the emergency person or call an ambulance if necessary. We strongly recommend that you have ambulance cover.

If your child is unwell it is recommended to keep them home from school until they recover.

The school expects children to be punctual and attend regularly. If your child is absent from school, we ask that you record the absence on Compass or contact the school. If no absence has been recorded on Compass or we have not heard from you by 9.30am on the day of absence, we will contact you to confirm your child is with you. If your child is late to school they must report to the office to be given a late pass.

If your family is going on a family holiday, please advise your child's teacher prior to the trip taking place, as well as updating on the Compass App.

Medications

It is essential that you advise the school if your child is required to take medication for on-going issues or one-off illnesses.

All medication is held in the office (not in student bags) with the exception of asthma puffers, which can be kept in the classroom.

Before any medication can be administered to children, we must have a signed permission form (which you can complete at the office) and the medication must be named and in its original packaging. If you have any questions regarding medication to be given to your child at school, please speak to Raelene or Tina in the office.
