Headspace Workshops
Headspace Workshops
This year we will be running our healthy headspace workshops again. We have dates set for Term 1 (age 12-15) and Term 2 (age TBC) so far. They will be held on Thursday’s from 4-5pm via Zoom meeting commencing next Thursday, 11th February, 2021. These workshops are designed to give young people information and help them learn skills to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The workshops are stand alone and cover a different topic each week so the young person can pick and choose what workshops they would like to attend – hopefully all of the 6 sessions!
Week 1 Sleeping Well.
Week 2 Get relaxed (Mindfulness and relaxation).
Week 3 Master your moods (Recognising and Managing Mood).
Week 4 Boost your confidence (understanding and accepting myself).
Week 5 Keep your cool (Understanding anger).
Week 6 Say it straight (Problem solving and Communicating with confidence).
There is no expectation that young people have their camera on or use a microphone during the session, however, they do need to have a working microphone and camera. This is in case anything comes up for them during the workshops and we need to talk to them individually in a private breakout room. All the activities have been designed to complete individually without having the need to interact with others. We do aim to have group conversations and activities but we understand that sometimes this will not happen given the age range.
If you have any young people aged 12-15 years that would benefit from brief intervention psychoeducation and skill building, please have a chat to them about these workshops and let me know if they are interested – attached is a flyer. The young person does not need to be accessing other headspace services to be able to attend workshops.
