Accreditation of Quality and Patient Safety Training Programmes

The purpose of this study is to develop a set of standards and assessment methodology to assess quality and patient safety training programmes.
The draft standards have been piloted with two organisations based in India and Jordan and the submissions reviewed by our surveyors.
We will meet with the working group in December to discuss the feedback from the pilot exercise. We will then make any additional changes required to the draft standards and assessment methodology.
Similarly, we hope to finalise these standards in early 2021 and to then plan the roll-out of this new programme.
We would like to thank the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) of Jordan for participating in the pilot of the draft standards for quality and patient safety training programmes.
We would also like to thank the following surveyors for assisting us with the piloting of the draft standards for these new programmes: Danielle Dorschner, Paul van Ostenberg, Virginia Matthews and Kirsten Peddie.
We appreciate the time and effort that both organisations and surveyors put into the pilot exercise.
Your feedback was invaluable in helping us to identify where additional changes may be required to the draft standards.
