Mandarin

with Mr Yang

新年好!Xin nian hao!

Welcome back to 2021 with our Mandarin learning!

In the next couple of weeks, we are going to celebrate Chinese New Year by learning how to say “xin nian kuai le” and/or “xin nian hao” to each other. This year is the Year of the Ox (牛niu 年nian). In China, Oxen are considered as hard-working, intelligent and responsible, our students in Trinity have also shown those characteristics when learning Chinese and other areas of study.

As started in 2020, there will also be two students from each class to be nominated as the Chinese Leaders in 2021. Anyone who would like to help improve our language learning is encouraged to submit their Expression of Interest to Mr. Yang in the following two weeks. In addition, two school Chinese Captains from year 6 will be announced in next week’s assembly. Together with our new team of helpers, we would like to take our Mandarin learning to the next level and it would be great to see and hear more Chinese being spoken in our school grounds and the wider community.

谢谢(xie xie)and Happy Lunar New Year to everyone!

Mr. Yang
