Step Up

Well done to all the Year 11 students for 2021 on a great start to step up. It is important that all students are completing tasks and holiday homework. In VCE and VCAL, completing coursework assists students completing outcomes and being successful in their chosen pathway. All students have been given holiday homework tasks. For VCE students a verification test will occur for every student during the first week back after the holidays.  All students need their required equipment (which includes textbooks, edrolo subscriptions for some subjects and the CAS calculator if doing general Maths).

For VCAL students all Step Up work and holiday homework will be used to determine the appropriate VCAL level for students in 2021 as well as whether VCAL is the most appropriate pathway for students. All VCAL students are expected to have secured a work placement in their chosen industry by the start of Term 1 2021.

VCE Verification process

Verification tests must occur in the first lesson back for every subject.

The purpose of the verification test is to:

  • Identify the ability of the student and to put in place extra support for students who may need it
  • Determine who had/had not completed their holiday homework
  • And/or, to identify students who were showing a lack of commitment to their VCE studies

If a student receives less than 60% on their verification test, a meeting will be organised by the Year Level Leaders with the student and his/her parent/guardians to decide whether the student is in the correct pathway.

Parents and Compass

Compass is a great tool for communication with the College. Parents can access Compass for the following:
