Year 12 Melbourne Camp
The Year 12's thoroughly enjoyed their three day camp to Melbourne, exploring the city, visiting Deakin University and Holmesglen Institute, and the Queen Victoria night markets. They also went ten pin bowling, played laser tag, visited the arcade, caught trams around the city, shopping, played glow golf and enjoyed a pizza and pasta dinner on Lygon Street! A jam packed camp, but lots of fun! Here are some comments from students about why they loved the camp....
I really enjoyed the freedom and the trust the teachers had in us on camp, especially when they let us tour the Queen Victoria markets at night!
I really enjoyed making new friends!
The bonding aspects and becoming cohesive as a group were a highlight!
My favourite part of camp was touring the universities and institutes!
I loved the singing on the bus!
The best aspect of camp was seeing what university life was really like and what different universities had to offer and also what TAFE had to offer!
The bonding of the group was a highlight for me!
I really enjoyed that we were split into groups so we got to know people we wouldn’t normally talk to you so much!
The tour of Holmesglen TAFE was really eye opening because it changed my views on potential types of study.
The tours of the universities made the transition seem less daunting!
I really enjoyed mingling with everyone at Kingpin and laser tag!
