A great week!

The beginning of the year has been a busy one for the Year 6 students. Last week the 3-6s participated in the swimming carnival and it was great to see everyone encouraging each other to get in the water and try their best. Everyone took part in at least 2 races and it was an amazing event! In the end green team won, but still a great effort by the other 2 teams. 31 of our students from Year 3 all the way up to Year 6 have made it into the district swim team, which is a great achievement. So at the end of the day everyone got into the water and had a great time!

Last week the 5/6s went off to Camp Rumbug in Gippsland. There were so many activities such as the giant swing, the mud run, low ropes, canoeing, orienteering, team challenges and initiatives. We were all separated into cabins and groups and each group were allocated teachers to assist us and guide us. Each night we would go into the green room and sing camp songs and play team games- everyone had a blast! Each night we were given a lovely dinner with dessert and our breakfasts and lunches were delicious also. Each group had an allocated set up and clean up time. On the last night everyone brought a packet of lollies to share with each other and we watched the movie Despicable Me 3. On the last day we said goodbye and got on the bus back to school. In the end everyone was extremely tired and couldn’t wait to get back to their own beds. Camp Rumbug was a great experience for us to make friends and experience things outside our comfort zone.
