National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence
We at St Joseph’s are registered for the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence, held on 15th of March. This is a chance for each class to show what we do to stop bullying and violence by using the slogan:
Bullying. No Way!
Take action every day
What is bullying?
Bullying is when someone:
- keeps picking on you again and again and tries to make you feel bad
- says or does lots of mean things that upset you
- makes fun of you a lot
- tries to stop you from joining in or make others not like you
- keeps hurting you
Our School Captains, Grace and Xavier, have their say about Bullying!
If we don’t show action against bullying it may turn out to be bigger.
It’s not fair that some children have bullying or violence going on in their lives.
Bullies may be insecure and they take it out on others.
Bullies want to be in control (of other people), but they usually have a group with them to try to make you feel powerless- so they aren’t really very tough.
As children if we know about another child being bullied we can use our words to diffuse the situation and if that doesn’t work we need to tell an adult.
