Peer Support
Year 7 have been participating in the Peer Support Program at Evans High School every fortnight since the start of Term 1. Year 10 Peer Support Leaders have led the sessions and helped our Year 7 students transition to high school. The sessions have consisted of activities that have helped build student's confidence, team building, self esteem and critical thinking. It has been a great year so far and the Year 7 and 10 students have forged great friendships as a result of this program.
Junior Merit Assembly
Student achievement was celebrated at Evans High School on the 2nd of May 2019. Students in Year 7, 8 and 9 were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates to showcase their achievements so far this year. We congratulate all our hard-working students for their dedication to their learning, as well as for their efforts in class and at home.
Sydney Jewsish Museum - Year 10
As part of their study of the Holocaust, Year 10 students visited the Sydney Jewish Museum in May. The Sydney Jewish Museum is a rich center of history that tells stories of struggle, hope and bravery from people, families and communities of the Holocaust. Year 10 students were able to learn about these stories through artefacts, survivor testimonies, new digital technologies and guided tours through the museum. After experiencing the museum, the students were really able to appreciate the significance of the Holocaust in history and were able to further their learning in class.
