Wellbeing -

Dear Families and friends of St Peter's,

Welcome to another newsletter celebrating everything that is happening in our school.

We are of course at the Clayton Festival on Sunday. Do come and find us. We are stand 24 and we will be making beautiful Italian masks.

We are practising for the festival- getting ready to be on the main stage on Sunday!

See you at the Clayton Festival on Sunday- we are performing on the main stage at 12.55pm.

Acceptable use of technology at St Peter’s.

As part of teaching and learning at St Peter’s  all students need to discuss what is acceptable use of technology at St Peter’s. Over the next week, your child/children will be discussing this with their own teacher and draw a picture/responses about what this looks like. (making good choices around technology) They then take this paper home with them to chat with you the parents. We ask that with your child you sign it after having a chat/discussion about making good choices when using technology. Please can your child then return this to school? This is an important document we refer to at any stage in the year when there has been irresponsible use or poor choices made around the use of technology. Thank you for your support.

Bollywood Dancing Club

New to St Peter's is our Dance Club at lunchtime. This week was a focus on the Bollywood Style.

We are so lucky to have the skills and moves of Runu, Karthik and Kavin's Mum.  Thank you Runu- we all loved the class.

2021 Foundation(Prep)

We are so delighted to be enrolling Foundation students for 2021 already.

If you have a sibling of a child who is already at St Peter's and you intend for them to start in 2021 please do let us know and we will ensure that there is a place for him or her.

Handy hints from our Cyber Safety Presentation last year- relevant always!

As we are looking at the Acceptable use of technology agreement with the children this week these are some handy hints for parents that came out of our presentation last year by leading specialists in this field, Martin and Carley McGauren.

No Hat No Play

With term 1 in full swing we remind parents that children are required to wear school hats to school, at all outdoor sessions and home from school.  The school has a ‘No Hat – No Play’ Sunsmart policy.

Playgroup is on every Tuesday and Friday. Everyone is welcome.

Play group is on in the library on Tuesdays and Fridays  as soon as the school bell goes at 8.50 am until 10.00 am. Come along , enjoy the company of others, have a cuppa and a chat- bring your neighbours.  See you on Tuesday.

Every day counts – School attendance

We all want our children to get a great education, and the building blocks for a great education begin with students coming to school each and every day.

Missing school can have a major impact on a young person’s future – a student missing one day a fortnight will miss four full weeks by the end of the year.

There is no safe number of days for missing school –

Coming to school every day is vital, but if for any reason your child must miss school, please ensure you have contacted the school office to report your child's absence - 03 95443032

Uniform

Just a reminder that we all need to wear our school uniform correctly and with pride. We do ask that our students wear black school shoes to school except if they scheduled to have a Physical Education lesson or if their teacher has requested they wear sports shoes. We thank you for your support in this matter. Sometimes it is not possible to purchase a new pair of shoes for a variety of reasons. We do understand this so if this is the case just have a conversation with your class teacher or send a note we can make exceptions.

Our summer Uniform

Have a lovely weekend everyone and we hope to see you on Sunday.

Warm regards

Ms K  ( Nerissa )
