Team Leader’s Message

I find myself asking, “Where has the year gone?”  However, when reflecting upon what the Year 11/12 students and staff have achieved throughout the year, it’s been a busy year!  With all students undertaking the VCAL curriculum this year, it has seen students develop literacy and numeracy skills and personal development skills when studying their integrated topics of Connecting with our Community or Post-School Preparation.  Students have each participated in at least three group work placements, and many have been out on independent work placements.  Students have been attending 10 different VET programs on a weekly basis.  We have had camps to Melbourne and Sydney and hosted two beautiful Presentation Balls. 

But the year is not over yet!  Many of the programs we access in the community are winding down but some alternate programs will be run at school.  As part of our Extreme Teams program the Year 11/12 students will be running some Christmas-themed market stalls for the Christmas Concert this year so we hope that many of you will be able to attend.  Also, from November the Year 12 students will start preparing for their Graduation, held on Thursday 14th December.

The majority of Year 12 students have been working closely with Rhiannon Campbell, our Post-School Transition Officer, and have made decisions about, and applied for, programs for 2019.  Placements include Tafe, transition to employment programs, employment services and day programs.  Many students will be undertaking transition days this term to familiarise themselves with their new service.
