Recreation News

The variety of Recreational activities students have engaged with in the last few weeks has dramatically increased. It was wonderful to have so many students involved in recreation last weekend in particular.

We thought you could view the Recreation Schedule on REACH. However, at the boarding parent forum you let us know you couldn’t. We will put a three-week plan in each Buzz edition from now on to ensure you have this information. We appreciate your support in encouraging your children to join in on recreation activities. A reminder that there will be some compulsory recreation during the term for Middle School boarders.

We would like to go to the beach more regularly when the weather warms up and build in more opportunities for surfing and canoeing.

Mr Rice has provided a reflection on the Recreational canoeing activity he and Mr Jordan took the boys to a couple of weeks ago.

On Sunday 17 October, Mr Mark Jordan and I took a mixed group of Year Nine and Ten boys down to the river for a canoe and a BBQ. We had ten students attend and it was a very enjoyable afternoon. As part of the day we had a race from out in the harbour, back to the bridge. Mark and I were a long way ahead of the competition until an unfortunate canoe flipped over, we relinquished our lead to go back and help them recover the canoe. This resulted in the victory of Hamish Medway and Liam Robinson.
