Message from Gemma
Principal - St Stephen's Catholic Primary School

Dear Families and friends,
I am thankful for our incredible St Stephen's community; students, staff and parents who have continued to share words and actions of support throughout this term.
I am grateful for your kind words and actions. These are gratefully appreciated and reflect the kind heart of the giver.
MACS Onsite Learning Update
Our recent WebEx meeting has given us a great deal of positivity in regard to ongoing Covid adjustments. Moving forward, we will now have the opportunity to return to most of our pre-Covid events and as a staff, we will keep you informed of upcoming activities.
Parents may now come onto school grounds for drop-off and to pick up students.
Parents, helpers and volunteers (QR check-in, double vaccinated, wearing masks) are now permitted on school grounds. We will begin to adapt our drop off / pick up to suit the new guidelines.
Students in grade three and above are still required to wear masks indoors at school (unless an exemption applies).
All staff, volunteers and helpers are required to sign in, wear masks and to show proof of double vaccination.
It was wonderful to meet our 2022 Prep students and their parents at our first orientation session. It is such an exciting time for us and our families. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Please ensure accounts are up to date as we head into 2022. Letters were sent last week.
Congratulations to our students who celebrated their Confirmation last night.
The ceremonies were extremely reverent and meaningful. Thank you to Fr Pritchard, Clare, Jonathon, Caitlyn, Michelle and Nick for their commitment to the students and their faith development.
Please check to ensure you have returned your school Chromebook chargers as all chargers have not been returned after our latest remote learning sessions.
Congratulations to all who attended. It was a resounding success and greatly appreciated by students and families.
Thank you to the staff who attended Clare, Rosetta, Michelle, Valli, Nick and Caitlyn - it is a huge commitment to leave family for 2 nights and I thank all involved.
2022 class groupings are being prepared along with class teachers. We will send all details in the coming week - step up day (meet 2022 teacher) is on 13th December.
As we journey towards Christmas let’s continue to live out our faith by spreading kindness and support throughout our community.
Staffing 2022
We congratulate Jonathon for his 2022 position at St John Vianney- Mulgrave. Maree will leave to explore a role different to teaching. Exciting times ahead for both Maree and Jonathon. We wish Rita well for next year - sadly our LSO’s are employed via a funding model and our funding changes year to year as does employment.
We have had many challenges as an educational system this year, one has certainly been managing vaccination requirements and government mandates. This has certainly been a challenge for employment across many schools. I’m thankful we are in the position to employ and share staff across schools, we have been able to employ key leaders across both schools and lead teachers into areas. Our specialist roles are TBC and we will inform you ASAP.
