Education in Faith

Education in Faith encompasses the following areas: Religious Education, Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments.

Gratitude, thankfulness or gratefulness, from the Latin word gratus "pleasing, thankful", is a feeling of appreciation felt by and/or similar positive response shown by the recipient of kindness, gifts, help, favors, or other types of generosity, to the giver. Being grateful is something we talk about at school during prayer or in class.

I bring this to your attention as this year has been a very challenging one for many individuals and families. This concept of gratitude is often forgotten about during these times. As we begin to look forward to a more positive future, I think it is important to stop and reflect on all the fantastic things we have in our lives. God has provided us with many blessings. It would be wonderful if you could have a conversation with your child/ren and acknowledge the many blessings we do have in our families.

Below is a prayer from one of our Friday Whole School Prayer Celebrations, which was held during remote learning. Please feel free to use this as part of your daily prayer or with your family.

God, Creator,

we celebrate your love for us and we give thanks to you

for all that we have, all that we are.

We know how to be grateful because of you.

May we offer thanks to you by sharing what you have blessed us with,

our talents, our spiritual wellbeing as well as our material goods.

May we live in your light and show others what it is to be grateful.

Amen.

Have a wonderful week.
