Walk Against Violence for White Ribbon Day
Today at lunch time we had so many students from all year levels join in with the Walk Against Violence for White Ribbon Day. It was hot and sunny, and we had lots of walkers and even some runners! Pledges were signed and will be displayed around the school which will be displayed around the school in the Library Wellbeing Corner, in the Wellbeing Office, and in the front office of the school. Students chose a ribbon to show their support, and some had bubble wands. Our playlist was made up of songs about surviving violence, so there was a meaningful atmosphere.
This is such an important topic because violence against women happens across all parts of society and destroys lives at the rate of one woman a week being killed by a partner or ex-partner. Gender equality and respect are the keys to ending this, with hope for a better life for both men and women.
Support White Ribbon Day. Stand up and speak out and act to prevent violence against women while staying safe.

Coping and Looking After Yourself
Looking after ourselves sometimes comes last especially when stuff is happening at home, or at school. You suddenly realise you are worried or stressed, and it can catch you unawares.
It isn’t a fun time, but there are some simple things that might work for you. Simple is often best. Like talking to someone, taking some time out, distracting yourself or making a plan about how to go forward.
Have a look at the ideas attached for some ideas about what you can try. They work for young people and adults. Sometimes it is just time to look after yourself.
