Year 12 Cadre Retreat

On Monday 22 November, as part of the preparation for the Year 8 Quest Retreat, Miss Wilson carried out a full day training session for the Cadre Leaders for 2022. With help from Mr Byrne and Mrs West, the Cadre spent the day reflecting on their own Year 8 Quest Retreat experiences and planned on making next year’s Retreat even better.  We are so blessed and thankful for Miss Wilson’s time, energy, and enthusiasm in preparing this Retreat, and to the Cadre for being so committed in their own Christian leadership of our Year 8 students.  They are a true reflection of our TC mantra, Men for Others.

Year 7 Term 4 Mass

As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, the Year 7 students embodied the importance to continue to live out and grow as a faith-sharing community. The theme for this Mass was hope, and together with Year 7 theme of Service to Others, the students reflected their Gospel commitment to the marginalised and the poor.  Their fundraising efforts for Wheelchairs for Kids was acknowledged at Tuesday’s Mass with special guest, Brother Olly Pickett, founder of this wonderful organisation who provide wheelchairs for people in impoverished countries.

Thank you to Mr Barry McKenna for introducing Br Olly and including a wonderful context of the work that all the volunteers carry out at Wheelchairs for Kids.  The Year 7 students are to be congratulated for raising over $5700.00. The Term 4 leaders were also blessed by Fra Oscar, after delivering a heartfelt Homily. It is always encouraging seeing young men reading, serving, and singing at Mass, and especially former Old Boy, Josh Sumich ('20) playing the piano for this Term’s Masses.

Friday 8.00am Community Mass

Today, we celebrated the final Friday Mass for the year.  I would like to sincerely thank Fra Oscar for his engaging Homilies, to the staff and students for hosting a Mass each week, and to the wonderful parent community who attend.  A big thank you to Mr Johns’ 7.8 PCG for hosting and reading at this Mass.

From Campus Ministry, we wish you a very blessed Christmas and a restful and enjoyable holiday.
