Our Magnificent Mentors

Thursday morning saw the culmination of the 2021 Senior Mentor Program, an opportunity for the Class of 2026 to show their appreciation for the time and commitment the Year 11 boys have shown in their first year of high school. When discussing the concept of a Senior Mentor, we wanted Year 11 students who could be active role models in the lives of Year 7 students, not just at events but each and every day. After an extensive application process, the 32 Year 11 students took on this opportunity and exceeded expectations.

At school on a day-to-day basis, the Senior Mentors have been there to help the Year 7s with a broken lock, a misplaced SmartRider, when they are lost between classes or even consoling them after a devastating handball defeat. The Senior Mentors always found ways to go outside of their job description to support the Year 7s. They organised a reflective ‘Morning with my Mentor’, which gave the Class of 2026 the opportunity to reflect on their first 100 days of schooling, they regularly attended PCG periods in the morning to check in with the boys and continue to be a part of their lives.

The Senior Mentor Team have positively influenced the lives of the Class of 2026 and both myself and Ms Amanda Marocchi (Head of Year 11) were blow away with their commitment. The Year 7 boys will be forever grateful for the sacrifice they have shown throughout the year and no doubt look forward to sharing their final year at the College together.

2022 Prefect Leadership Day

On Tuesday, the 2022 Trinity College Prefects joined forces with the Mercedes 2022 Prefects to part in a Leadership Development Day. The day’s workshops were run by David Castelanelli, former Head Boy from Chisolm Catholic College and Francesca de Nuccio, former Head Girl from Mercedes College. The key focusses for the day included topics such as Leadership Personalities and Styles, Selfless Leadership, Goals and Planning, all whilst focusing on building a Leadership Action plan for 2022. The Prefect groups were able to work collaboratively within their portfolios to create a vision and goals for the upcoming year.

The 2022 TC Prefect body are looking forward to further working with the Mercedes’ Prefects to ensure 2022 is an amazing year for all involved. A major thanks goes to David and Francesca, and also Ms Amanda Marocchi and Ms Danny Wares for organising a valuable day to develop our skills and build positive relationships with Mercedes College.

Year 8s Battle it Out

The Year 8s enjoyed perfect weather conditions for their annual tug-o-war competition on Tuesday. The boys competed in a round robin, with all PCG classes taking part in at least three tug-o-wars. Winners knocked out losers, muscles were bulging and sweat was pouring as 8.3 finally managed to take the title with a tremendous win over 8.2 who came second, with 8.6 coming in third! Well done to all the boys for taking part and giving it their all in some healthy, fun, friendly competition.

Year 9 Outdoor Education

The Year 9 Outdoor Education students attended a three day, two night camp at our Camp Kelly facility in Dwellingup. Students had the opportunity to do navigation, mountain biking, a cultural tour and high ropes during their days.
