WASTE AND RECYCLING POP-UP CARLTON NORTH

Tuesday 09 May 2023

Swing by our waste and recycling pop-up from 5-7pm on Tuesday 9 May at Carlton Library to learn more about moving to a circular economy.

The Victorian Government has made some big changes to support the transition to a circular economy by reducing waste, reusing and repairing products and increasing recycling. These important changes mean the cost of providing waste and recycling services is rising.

To meet this challenge, we are separating the cost of waste services from general rates. By separating out waste service charges we can continue to provide essential services to our community for generations to come.

Join us at the library to learn more about waste and recycling, and chat to our friendly team about how the separation of waste service charges from general rates affects you.

Yarra Libraries supports early literacy development through the delivery of preschool programs including Storytime, Babytime and Rhymetime. These programs are held weekly during school term. We also help to foster a love of learning with regular after-school programs, covering STEM subjects, arts and creativity, and run a separate program of events during school holidays.

When our libraries are closed, you can access videos of our storytellers and librarians reading some of their favourite books and singing familiar songs, as well as online resources that can help your children maintain literacy and a love of reading and learning while at home.
