Grade Prep

The preps have had an amazing first semester and have enjoyed learning new topics in the classroom. 

In Reading the students are becoming familiar with what makes a good reader. Their stamina in independent reading has improved immensely. 

This term we focussed on learning about the features of a non - fiction text and retelling a story – identifying the character, setting, beginning, middle and end.  We enjoyed reading about lizards and visiting Nugget, Mr P's lizard in the grade 5 classroom. 

In Writing, students continue to enjoy completing an entry in their writers notebook. They are beginning to expand their ideas and writing more than once sentence. The growth has been amazing to see. 

In Maths, the students have been learning about, number measurement and capacity. The students have enjoyed completing some hands on tasks.

We have enjoyed having our parent helpers in the classroom this term and we would like to say a big thank you to you all. We look forward to having you all back next term if you can! We really appreciate your time.
