Positive Education at BHPS

What a great term of Positive Education we have had!

We have continued to tie our PERMA Framework in with our vision whilst using our character strengths and spotting character strengths in others.

Our Vision is to Empower students to shape and enrich the world around them

We will do this by:

• Enabling a Learning for Life approach with a focus on achievement of potential across arange of topics (engagement)

• Enhancing the Positivity, Health and Resiliency of our students, staff and communitythrough a focus on active physical and mental health

• Developing Future Citizens who contribute and participate in our local community (relationships) and recognize their opportunity and responsibility as a global citizen (meaning).

Some of the character strengths we have focussed on have included hope, courage, wisdom, fairness and honesty.

In the classrooms students have also learnt about and practised positive coping, upstanders, Zones of Regulation, dealing with conflict and problem solving.

The Victorian FISO (Framework for improving student outcomes) places wellbeing at its centre and defines wellbeing as the development of capabilities necessary to thrive, contribute and respond positively to challenges and opportunities of life.

Similarly, our aim in teaching wellbeing  is to equip our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead happy, balanced, and fulfilling lives. By focusing on their mental and emotional health, we hope to empower our students to navigate challenges, develop resilience, and cultivate positive relationships, ultimately shaping their ability to contribute to society.
