These are the children who received certificates this week for their wonderful enthusiasm for learning and their hard work.

Fire Fighters visit the Preps

The Prep children were very excited to have 2 visits from our Fire fighters. 

One visit was cut short as they were called away for an emergency. 

The children learnt about Good Fires and Bad Fires. 

A campfire is a good fire but a bushfire is not a good fire. 

The firefighters taught the children to , “Get down low and Go Go Go !” if they are in a house fire because the smoke rises and the children can hopefully get to safety. 

The fire fighters showed the children to , “Stop, Drop, Cover and Roll” if their clothes are on fire. 

The children were able to demonstrate this back in their classrooms too. 

The best part ? Holding the big hose as it was turned on fully and being able to spray water high in the air and across the street. So much fun and so many happy faces. 

The Fire fighters left the children with a task - 

They asked the children to discuss a meeting place with their family. If there is a fire at home , where do you all meet where you will be safe and together. 

Please have a think about this and come up with a plan.
