National Road Safety Week

National Road Safety Week is from the 14th to the 21st May.  This week focusses on remembering the lives lost on our roads and preventing loss of life.

This week is also a timely reminder to us all of the importance of following road rules and teaching our children the behaviours that make them safer as they use the local streets to get to school and home again. Whether we like it or not our children are great mimickers of our behaviour and this includes the way we use the road.

We have regular lessons with our students on a range of road safety messages, it is also helpful if these are reinforced at home.

The lessons include, using crossings, holding an adult's hand when crossing the road, wearing bike helmets, not darting out from between parked cars, which side of the road to exit a car, how to look to ensure it is safe to cross a road, wearing seat belts, etc

Cross Country

The Malvern Primary School Cross Country was held on Monday, 15th May, at Central Park. In beautiful sunny weather all students in years 3-6 completed the event and gave their best effort running either 2km (8/9/10 year olds) or 3km (11yo and 12/13yo races).

Thanks to all parents who volunteered to assist with the running of these events. Your time and efforts are appreciated.  Thank you also to the parents who came to support their child/ren during the event.
