Community Group News

Welcome to term 2! The Community Group welcomes all parents and carers in the school community. As a group we help organise some of the fundraising, pastoral care support and the extra fun events for our children. You are welcome to join any meeting, event or even just share ideas on a non-committed basis. Please feel free to reach out on our Delegates Facebook pages or speak to Sheena or Matt if you are interested in helping at any time.

We are looking for a Secretary and a Social Events person on a more committed basis.

Our School Open Day was yesterday, May 4th. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, and new families consider our school for next year. Thank you to Renee, Ann and Jeff for helping with hot drinks and making families feel welcome.

Fundraising

Our major fundraising and social event for the year will be a Trivia Night booked for November 10th 2023. Raathika will be heading up the sub-committee and is looking for anyone who may have ideas, or time to commit to organising the Trivia Night, please contact Raathika on

Netball

Round 1 Netball: 29/4/23. It was exciting to see our St Luke’s Netballers' take the court for the first time this year. We have two amazing coaches who have taken the lead. Welcome back Dion Duffy who will be coaching our 11&U Falcons and our new Coach Lil Kelly who put her hand up for 9&U Doves, they are two very experienced netballers that will relay their knowledge and skills onto our teams.

U/11: played Tatura Storm this week. A good game to start with as both teams were quite even. We had most of the play and once we sort out our minor errors and turnovers, our improvement will be noticed in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, Tatura came away with the points this week winning 7 to 4. Awards: Zara Adams and Chloe Van Kerhoff.

U/9: This week we played Kyabram Flames, Final score 2-11. Congratulations to Emily Tierney-O’Hara for winning the award. A Great Team performance with Thea Kelly shooting both our goals for the game.

Pastoral Care:

Year level Delegates are there to help provide updates and reminders or just to help be a link between parents and school. If you are not sure who your year level Delegates are, please contact the Renee Threlfall, the office or class teacher. If you or a family you know need any help please let us know.  We can organise a meal or two, or just even be a likeminded parent to talk to if you need.
