Principal's News

Mrs Gabrielle Espenschied

Dear Parents,

Our whole school theme for week 3 is focused on learning through encounter with others and taking responsibility for self. Please read the slide show below outlining all the important factors and research into why this is  important in our school.

To take responsibility for self, we focus on building resilience in our lives to cope with whatever may come our way. We use the tool kit element of Mind Master as we check in on our thinking patterns and how these have a significant impact on the way we develop resilience.

We congratulate our students for using Mind Master thinking and showing resilience when running in the cross country last week. All students from years Prep to 6 ran in the event and showed grit, determination and persistence as they kept an 'I can do it' attitude in their thinking. Thank you to Maddy, Lisa and all who helped on the day.

This week, we celebrate  Mother's Day in our school. Our mothers and special carers are always looking out, caring and nurturing every child in their care. We celebrate their importance in the development of children and show our appreciation for their unconditional love for their children.

We invite all our community to the special Mother's Day celebrations this Friday 12th May. We invite all our mums, grandmothers, aunties and any other special members of our community to come along to our special celebration.

Our Mother's Day Mass will commence at 9.30am in the Church.

Our special Mother's Day morning tea will follow.  Our student leaders will serve, we have a guest speaker and our school choir will be performing.

Please remember to RSVP via Operoo by tomorrow, Tuesday 9th May.

Please don’t forget to send money for the Mother's Day stall. Gifts $2.00 - $5.00. Class Raffle tickets $1 each.

Just a reminder that all students must be in full St Mary’s uniform every day. This includes shoes, socks, hair ties and coats. Uniforms are a great way to celebrate and belong in our school and it is most important that the uniform code is worn every day in the correct way.

The school advisory council has approved the addition of the following items to our school uniform. These items will be available from Beleza in the coming weeks.

  1. St. Mary’s school coat
  2. St. Mary’s school beanie
  3. Updated design for school winter pants

The advisory council will be looking at our sports uniform at the next meeting.

Enrolments are open for 2023. Please promote our wonderful school to everyone in our community. We have our Open Day on Monday 22nd May, so please pass the invite on. There are flyers being sent home soon and if you can distribute any flyers in our community, please let us know.

We also invite all our community to the opening of the community garden, wetlands and labyrinth on Wednesday 7th June from 2-4pm.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
