The Learning Zone - Mrs Holland, Leader of Pedagogy/Assistant Principal

Brain Olympia

On Tuesday 29th October, two teams from St Joseph's journeyed to St Edward's Hall to compete in the annual Brain Olympia competition.   The competition involved teams from other Tamworth schools, along with Uralla, Quirindi and Manilla.  On the day the students participated in rounds of  competition covering subjects such as general knowledge questions, mathematical problem solving, drama and public speaking.

Mrs Galvin, who supervised the students, reported that both teams competed extremely well using their teamwork skills to the best of their abilities.  She complimented them on their behaviour, teamwork, camaraderie and just missing out on being in the top two teams.

Juliah White (Year 6) commented "I liked how my team worked together. Everyone had different qualities that, put together, made a great team.  I enjoyed the Drama section where we had to fracture a fairy tale with a twist."

Congratulations to all students involved on their effort and to Mrs Galvin for preparing the students and supervising on the day.
