Chaplain’s 2020 Spot

"Intro to 2020"

Have you created any resolutions for 2020? I was thinking recently about the New Year’s expectations of many people that have been shattered by the devastating fires. Homes, livelihoods, properties, and even a school in Clifton Creek.

Some of you may have been directly impacted by the fires over the holidays. Regardless of our proximity to these blazes, we have all seen so much on TV, seen and smelt the smoky skies, and many of us have given to help those affected.

As we move forward, and try to deal with what we have experienced, it is important to have opportunities to ‘download’ about such a time. Children especially might need time to talk, or write or draw about their experiences.

I have an amazing book of drawings created by children who experienced the dreadful tsunami on Boxing Day 2004. It is an incredibly moving record of their memories. If you would like to read it, please let me know.

We need to help each other times. If there is anything that you/your children would like to discuss, please contact me at school on the days below, or send me an email. I will be happy to meet and discuss your concern.

NB. There is a copy of my Parent Consent Form on our GRPS website.
