Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools: School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS)

MACSSIS is an annual process whereby schools listen to the thoughts and feelings students, families and staff have about how their school can improve.  It is an online Survey that provides valuable community insights on areas that each school can focus on.

Will Marian College participate in the Survey in 2021?

Marian College will once again participate in this Survey.

Who will participate in the Survey?

All students will complete this Survey in class time. Staff will complete it in a scheduled meeting time. All families are invited to complete the Survey on a device that is convenient - laptop, smart phone, ipad.

What are the aims of the Survey?

The Survey involves collecting and analysing data from the school community (students, families and staff) to enable us to capture a community snapshot and identify plans for future actions. One of the main goals of the family Survey is to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our College. We believe it is important to encourage all our families to have a voice and contribute to shaping the ongoing improvement of the College.

We invite all families to participate in the Survey because we are seeking your thoughts and opinions on how you think things are going. Participation is completely voluntary. There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers because the Survey captures how you think and feel about the College. The more families we have complete the Survey, the more data we will have available to draw upon in terms of targeting areas for school improvement. All families will be sent an email link and a family personal identification number (PIN) for completing the Survey.

When is the Survey available?

The Survey will open on Monday August 30 and close on Friday September 17.  You will be sent further information about completing the Survey in the next couple of weeks. The Survey may only be completed once.

Is the Survey available in other languages?

The Survey is available in English, Arabic, Assyrian, Chaldean, simplified and traditional Chinese, Dinka, Falam, Hakfa Chin, Karen, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Zomi.

Who collects the information?

The results are collected by Orima Research and provided to the College to inform school improvement focus areas moving forward. No names will be attached to the Survey meaning students, families and staff are able to remain anonymous.
