Mr Eamonn Farrelly

Year 7 Religion - Reflections on family heritage

One thing that me and my ancestors find so important is the way we respect and love each other; we love and respect each other for who we are, and we believe that family is everything which I am quite proud of.  Even through generations we have still been able to hold onto our diverse cultural backgrounds.  For example, our cultural food, traditions and linguistic values – Layla Jafary

One of my favourite parts about my family is doing fun activities or just communicating with each other.  For example, I loved visiting the Philippines, going on road trips, playing board games, eating at the dinner table and talking about all the funny memories we’ve had.  An important thing to me to have in a family is having a good connection with everybody and knowing that you will always be there for each other. – Jaela Gubatanga

10/11 CSYMA students helping to fundraise and raise awareness for MAD Day

Just between the two lockdowns, the CSYMA students had a chance to present to classes about where MAD Day funds actually go (Wellsprings for Women in Dandenong and Lasallian Schools in Pakistan) and why it’s important to donate.  Here’s a reflection from Jeovine:

"As we live through the current climate of the world, it is important to understand that we are privileged and there is always someone in need of help, that is why we students from Mr Joachim’s (and Ms De Francesco’s) CSYMA class have taken the initiative and organised a couple of fundraisers.  We have decided to organise these fundraisers to collect funds for MAD Day, a yearly effort of the school, along with promoting the ideas of generosity and compassion, following the footsteps of Jesus Christ.  We encourage other students, teachers and parents to join in with these efforts, helping the less fortunate in their times of need."

Jeovine Suliman

We will continue to raise these funds until the end of Term 3 and appreciate your generosity.
