From the Chaplain

Until now I have spoken about all the Christian Studies classes that are happening in the school. There are four classes that I have not mentioned. Years Ten and Eleven do not have any Christian Studies lessons at the moment, so that leaves me with four classes that I haven’t mentioned.

Year Five: Most of this term we have been looking at the different ways in which God speaks to us. They have even looked at a Minecraft version of ‘Balaam’s talking donkey’ from the Bible. They have just finished a poster on ‘Eight ways which God can speak to us.’ These are through: the bible, music, creation, his voice, the Holy Spirit, dreams, angels and through other people.

Year Six:  This term they have been creating websites about other countries. They were looking at the charities that help the countries, the percentage of Christians in the country and how Christians and non-Christians get along.

Pre-Primary: They have been looking at the qualities of a good friend this term and what the Bible says about these qualities.  Last week we looked at Zacchaeus not being an honest tax collector and we also looked at the story of Samuel how he was a good listener.

Year Eight: One of the lessons the Year Eights undertook was about being grateful. They played the M&M game where they had to put their hand in the paper bag to retrieve an M&M. Then they needed to tell their group something they were grateful for depending on the colour they had. They then wrote a prayer to God about these things in their life that they were grateful for. And of course, they were able to eat the M&Ms they spoke about too.

Red: Tell your group about a family member you are grateful for and why.

Yellow: Tell your group about a friend you are grateful for and why.

Orange: Tell your group about a food you are grateful for and why.

Blue: Tell your group about a place you are grateful for and why.

Green: Tell your group about a thing you are grateful for and why.

Brown: Tell your group about a skill/talent you have that you are grateful for and why.
