Principal's Report

Respect, Creativity, Endeavour, Friendliness, Honesty, Trust

Hello Robbie Mac families!

We would like to thank our whole community for your diligence and commitment to learning and wellbeing as we settled back to onsite learning last week.

Though restrictions have continued and we have had to cancel a number of events, we are so excited to have our community back in the school grounds with our wonderful Robbie Mac staff.

Our two main priorities at this time will continue to be:

  • Student wellbeing- ensuring our students are supported, engaged and learning to their best potential
  • Our Learning Program: with the key focus on Literacy & Numeracy and re-establishing routines and structures.

Within the current guidelines we are limited to what events we can continue to run and ones which we have had to cancel. Please see updated list below.

What we can continue:

  • School Camps
  • Excursions
  • All sporting activities (indoor, outdoor, contact and non-contact), but only intra-school

What is cancelled until further notice:

  • School events including - Community groups, Parent gatherings etc.
  • School Tours
  • Incursions
  • Assemblies
  • Interschool Sport
  • Onsite 2022 Foundation Transition

Visitors to the school:

  • Non-essential visitors are excluded from school at this time
  • Essential visitors include for example:
  • Preservice teacher placements
  • Health and wellbeing staff
  • Smile Squad

A reminder that ALL visitors  who enter school buildings must sign in with the QR code and if in the school for more than 15 minutes please register at the school office.

Though we are unable to assemble as a whole school the students are continuing to love school life and are celebrating at Robbie Mac!

Last week the Foundation children celebrated 100 days at school and today the  Years 3 to 6s enjoyed an action-packed, energetic School Aths day at Bill Stewart Reserve. See highlights below.

Some events that have been cancelled this term, may be rescheduled. Please check the newsletter/Compass for updates.

We will be running a virtual assembly on Friday at 2.45pm. A link will be sent to the community by Friday afternoon.

I have included a newspaper article from  Deakin University with researchers studying  how quick and active breaks for children can support cognitive functions.

Antonia from 34L stars in this article. A timely read to support the balance of learning and wellbeing for our students!

100 Days of School

Congratulations to our Foundation students on reaching 100 days of school- including remote and onsite learning!

We are very proud of all our Foundation kids and are excitedly looking forward to seeing their many mind-blowing achievements throughout the rest their learning journey at Robbie Mac!

Thank you to Kate Pickburn, Anne Seymour and Tess Walker for the incredible work they have done this year to nurture and support the development and wellbeing of our 2021 Foundation children.

The children and teachers had day full of celebrations with special activities, parades and treats.

Years 3- 6 School Aths Day

How fortunate we were as the rain held off for the majority of the day yesterday at Bill Stewart Athletics track for our school sports day. After a lot of rain the night before we were wondering if Aths could go ahead and it turned out to be a terrific day! The enthusiasm of all students was outstanding as they ran, jumped, threw and hurdled their way through their schedule.

Thank you to Tim Fearn-Wannan for his preparation and organisation of the day and for the magnificent members of RMPS staff for their hard work and professionalism on the day.

Though were not able to have spectators, a number of parents were able to assist with events, group supervision and we thank you for your enthusiastic support.
