From the Library
It has been a very busy start to the year for the library with Over 200 books being added since the year began. We have added a number of biographies from a range of people but mainly sportspersons. We are continuing to source new books for this collection.
We have just had new shelving added to house our growing graphic novel collection and its looking good with more changes to come. The older graphic novels stand will now become a magazine rack as we are trialing a number of new magazine subscriptions this year including Techlife, Teen Breathe and Fishing Australia.
Borrowing
All students in Kindergarten to year 4 must bring a library bag to borrow books. This is to protect the books as they move from school to home and also keep them together until they are returned to school.
Premiers Reading Challenge
Last year 75 Students from Guyra Central School successfully completed the Premier’s Reading Challenge.
The 2022 challenge has now open and all students will be encouraged to participate. Books read during Library lessons will be able to be recorded as will a number of class novels. Students who read at home should have no trouble finding books they will enjoy on the PRC reading list.
