Inspire

I am very blessed to be surrounded by many wonderful women in my life. I come from a line of strong, kind and supportive women in my family, who have nurtured me and helped me to see myself as unique, valued and equal. Lessons I hope to pass on to my own daughter.

Every year, March 8th is marked as International Women’s Day. A day to celebrate women and girls around the globe and the amazing things they have, and will continue to, accomplish. 

As Christians we know that all people, including women, are made in God’s image. What a breathtaking truth, the God who hung the planets in place, who designs every snowflake made us female on purpose to reflect him. 

Each and every girl has immeasurable worth, a worth that must be upheld in each and every context. May we be a world that seeks to cherish and protect all women, just as our Saviour does. 

May we lift up all women and girls around us. May we celebrate and acknowledge the contributions they make to our lives and the world round us. I urge you to take some time to honour the women in your life this week. 

God of all, God of hope,

We pray for women and girls today. That they will be all that they can be. Give us courage to speak and work for equality and justice, until the earth is filled with righteousness and love.
