Dear Parents, Carers, Family and Students,
End of Term 1
Wow! We made it! We’re now at the end of week 11, which has been a very long, but very successful term! This month HPSC had the joy of running a Swimming Sports day, where many students participated in competitive swimming events, fun swimming games, chess, dancing, singing and more!It was a very enjoyable day for all who attended, and the students really demonstrated their ability to support each other and have fun in a safe and productive way!
Excitingly, Walton house came in SECOND on the swimming sports day, which is amazing!!! We have House Athletics approaching on the 19th of May, so watch this space!

The Production!
Last week the fabulous production ran over the weekend. The production was Aladdin, and the performances, singing, acting, costumes, direction and special effects were simply phenomenal. Congratulation to all the actors and crew who were involved, and a special thank you to all the staff who made it happen 😊
Reading House Points
If sport isn’t your thing, remember that across the houses we have a reading program. This reading program is to encourage students to read books, fill out a mini review and receive 5 house points!
If a student writes a long review, Mr Shinkfield will post it on compass, and that student will be awarded 50 house points (that’s right, 50!).
If you’re interested in this, please go to the library near the returns, and you’ll find some coloured slips. They are in house colours, so grab a yellow one and start reading! Each month we will have staff and student recommendations in the Newshamper. These slips & boxes will also be in all house offices in term 2.
Staff book recommendation:
Gabrielle Phelan - My book recommendation for this month is: The Book Thief!
Walton Student of the Month!
Walton Staff Member of the Month!
Ready to Learn Reminders:
Please remember to wear your uniforms with pride. Uniform is an important way to demonstrate our togetherness as a community, and a way to represent our school community. It’s a responsibility of students at HPSC to uphold this standard, and overall, we are really impressed with the presentation of uniform so far. Remember to attend classes on time, so that students have the best chance at accessing information and content. Being 10 minutes late 5 times a week means students can be missing an hour of class time over the week. A reminder to students to ensure bags aren’t coming to classes, and that lockers are being used appropriately.
Thank you,
Please enjoy the break, rest up, stay safe and we will see you all in Term 2!
