Principal's Report

End of Term 1

As the end of Term 1 approaches, it is time to reflect on our productive start to 2022. With greater continuity and certainty, we see further progress as we strive to further improve learning opportunities for our students. I wish to take the opportunity to thank all students and staff for their work across the term.

Open Day/Evening

Thank you to all members of our local community who attended our recent Open Day/ Evening. Thank you also to large group of students and staff for assisting with the school tours and learning expo’s. I encourage all prospective families to contact the school to book a tour to see our learning community in action.

Aim high, go for 100% attendance!

With a strong focus on encouraging high levels of student attendance, we acknowledge all students who have maintained a 100% attendance record for Term 1. Well done on a great effort and keep up the great work!  Absence from school can create gaps in learning and disadvantages students. Successful students have consistent high levels of school attendance

Aladdin Jr.

Last week, we enjoyed our school production Aladdin Junior. This was a culmination of 18 months of hard work. The team did an amazing job throughout each performance. They commenced with a matinee for local primary schools, performing to a packed house. Comments like, “It was awesome!”   “It was better than the movie!” “I would like to see it again!” indicate that the show was well received by the audience. Over the 18 months and many months during the lockdowns of 2021, the resilient group of students grew in confidence and skill.

I had the privilege of viewing their final performance on Saturday evening.  A fantastic performance and one that made me very proud.

House Swimming

Recently, our House Swimming was held at Pines Forest Aquatic Centre. It was another great day of fun filled events. Traditional swimming events, novelty races, Staff vs Student races, Dance competitions,  Chess, Jenga, Volleyball, Basketball and more. House Swimming at HPSC is like nothing else! Thank you to all competitors, and to all who attended and supported the day. A special thanks to Mr Jamie Marks for his excellent planning and organisation of this successful day.  Congratulation to Mabo House for winning the House Swimming for 2022!

School Review

This week, we completed the final day of our School Review. Every four years, all schools reflect on their achievements and consider further opportunities to improve learning. By mid-May a full written report is expected. We are in the process of drafting a new Strategic Plan. After lots of hard work, and the introduction of many new and exciting programs and learning opportunities, we are well positioned to see the school progress to the next level. There has never been a better time to join our learning community. Thank you to Ms Lucy Glover (School Reviewer), Ms Vikki Golding (Senior Education Improvement Leader) , Mr Rob Duncan ( Principal, Cranbourne West SC), Mr Simon Sherlock (Principal, Hallam College), Mr Luke Delutis- School Council President, Ms Kelly Fisher- Parent Representative School Council, and Members of the College Executive Leadership Team.
