Fundraiser for children in Ukraine

Dear CHPS families,

I am asking for your help to raise funds for children in Ukraine who need urgent evacuation for life-saving cancer treatment.

I am the mother of Freya Martin in grade 3 and also a paediatric oncologist working at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital here in Melbourne.

Since the war began in Ukraine, I have been leading an initiative to assist my international colleagues with their efforts to get kids to safe treatment at hospitals across Europe.

It is hard to imagine the double terror for the families facing both their child’s life threatening illness and the outbreak of war. Even in the  best of circumstances these are some of the most vulnerable of patients but now they are at enormous risk.

There is a fantastic medical community organising to help these children but they need funds to arrange logistics, pay for medicine, surgery or radiotherapy, and assist the the families who have left everything behind in Ukraine.

Please consider donating to our gofundme page and sharing the link with your friends and families. We have almost reached our target of raising $10,000. It would mean a great deal to me if the CHPS community could help us achieve our goal.
