GVGS Tennis

On Wednesday the 23rd of February the Girton Tennis Team travelled to Shepparton to play Goulburn Valley Grammar School on Shepparton’s famous lawn courts. Although we were beaten in the end, everyone had some valuable time learning how to play grass court tennis.

The Senior boys had a disappointing day with a number of losses, however, playing on show courts 1, 2 and 3, we had an enjoyable day. Congratulations Siddheswar Vijayanand (12M) for winning best on court. 

The Senior Girls had similar luck, winning a few more games than the boys, however, they lost the rock, paper, scissors so were demoted to some lower courts. Bad luck! Congratulations to Eva Thackray (10A) who won best on court for the Senior Girls.

The Junior boys played on some of the back courts, putting up a good fight to their opponents. Well done to Harshil Balraj (7R) who got best on court for the Junior Boys!

Finally, the Junior Girls also played on the back courts, and played well they did! However, they didn’t win along with the rest of Girton on this year’s GVGS tour. Congratulations to Eva Gross (7F) who won best on court for the Junior Girls!

Well done to everyone that played and thank you to Ms Speed and Ms Nichols for their efforts.
