Room 5

Last week students in Room 3 and Room 5 participated in Clean Up Australia Day. Students were able to collect several bags full of rubbish that had been left around our school. We discussed the impact littering has on the land and oceans, and talked about some of the other ways we can help look after the environment.

This week we had a visit from Jess from Cleanaway SA. Jess talked to us about recycling and showed us what can go in each bin – recycling, compost and landfill. We discussed how to dispose of other items responsibly, such as batteries, soft plastics and electrical items. Then we played a game where students had to work in teams to sort their rubbish items into the correct bin
