Pastoral Care

Welcome to 2017
I hope all students are happy to be back and new students and families are becoming familiar with their new environment. As Pastoral Care Worker I am part of the team that supports the emotional and general well being of students and members of our wider school community. Part of my role is to work with students who are members of our COMMUNITY ACTION TEAM. These students have a passion for social justice and follow the teachings and values as identified by the Catholic Church however the vision, direction and decisions are made by the group with an emphasis on social justice and access and equity issues. The team is made up of volunteers from year 7 to year 10 and meet on a fortnight basis (or as required).
The actions of the group normally follow a 3 step process.
SEE (Education & Awareness)
THINK (Formation & Reflection) and
DO (Community Service & Fund Raising)
Throughout the year the team will conduct a major activity each term as well as specific activities if the need arises and the team has identified that they can be of assistance. This assistance may be in the way of fundraising, community participation of volunteering for the benefit of the wider community. I will be looking for students to join the team and will be holding our first meeting for the year as soon as possible. Details will be included in the morning notices.
The C.A.T also has their own Facebook site which is a great way to inform members and families of our activities, projects and a range of items of interest. Please feel free to “Like” our page.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like further information regarding the C.A.T or if I can be of assistance to yourself or your child.
Have a wonderful weekend, stay cool and stay safe.
Regards Sue Hone (Pastoral Care Worker)
