TERM 2 SPORT
Welcome back for Term 2, 2018. This is a huge term in sport. Below are a list of key dates we have for the term:
- Friday 27 April - McKinnon Cross Country;
- Thursday 3 May - Kingston Boys Netball/Girls Football Day;
- Monday 7 May - Kingston Intermediate Round Robin plus Inter/Senior Table Tennis Day (Sports Include Netball, Football, Soccer, Badminton and Table Tennis);
- Thursday 17 May - Kingston Senior Round Robin (Sports Include Netball, Football, Soccer, Badminton and Hockey);
- Wednesday 23 May - Kingston Cross Country.
Year 7 & 8 weekly sport will commence in the coming weeks.
Congratulations to all teams who won the Kingston Division during Term 1. Over the next 2-3 weeks these teams will play in the Southern Metropolitan Region Finals.
Good Luck to all teams playing in Term 2.

STATE SWIMMING
During the first week of term whilst many students were simply adjusting back into routines of everyday school life, a small number of students were off representing the school at the State Swimming and Diving championships.
Ten students represented the college at the State Swimming Championships and the results were as follows:
- Will Sharp (Year 10) won 3 Gold (50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle and 1 Silver medal. He travels to Sydney for the Australian Age Championships next week;
- Maya Hammam (Year 11) won a Gold medal in the 50m Butterfly;
- Ron Golombick (Year 7) won a Bronze medal in the 50m Butterfly and a Silver medal in the Relay;
- Our Junior Boys, Kai Sawaki (Year 8), Jarek Soen (Year 8), Ron Golombick (Year 7) and Flynn Lu (Year 8) won a Silver medal in a blistering time for the Medley Relay;
- The Intermediate Boys, Michael Gershenzon (Year 9), Jacob Gray (Year 11), Will Sharp (Year 10) and Alan Tang (Year 11) won Gold in the Freestyle Relay. These boys missed the state record by 1.3 seconds.
Four students represented the college at the SMR and State Diving championships on Thursday 19 April. All the girls competed well on the day. Elly Booth (Year 7) was a standout on the day winning a Bronze Medal in the SMR Final and making it through to the State Final.
Well done to all students on their fantastic achievements early in Term 2.

INTERMEDIATE ROUND ROBIN - THURSDAY 22 MARCH
A very successful day for McKinnon on Thursday 22 March at the Intermediate Round Robin held at various Melbourne venues. McKinnon won Boys and Girls Volleyball and Softball. These teams will go through to the Southern Metro Region Finals in Term 2.
Thanks to all the players who represented the school and the coaches for giving up their time for training and game day.

INTERMEDIATE GIRLS TENNIS
On Thursday 22 March, Emma Farrell, Nina Liu, Marisha Dinesh, Stephanie Goldenberg, Annalie Grima, Mikayla West, Sophie Roberts and I participated in the Kingston Division Intermediate Girls Tennis competition. We met down at Bentleigh Recreation Tennis Club at 9am and played six games each, three games of singles and three of doubles.
We came Runners Up.
Unfortunately, we were beaten by Bentleigh in the Final, who were a stronger team. Our B team came 5th.
We all had a great day and played really well! Thanks Mrs Hooper for organizing and supporting us.

KINGSTON SENIOR ROUND ROBIN
On Monday 26 March the Kingston Senior Round Robin was held at various venues across the region. Congratulations to the Softball and Baseball teams who will go on to the next round of competition, the Southern Metropolitan Region Finals at the start of Term 2.
