The Green Team
Alex Baxter & Elise Hawkins
Sustainability Team
We wish everyone a warm welcome back to Term 4! One week down and we have already had our first Green Team meeting of the term. Last Friday we met up to design posters for the recycling bins around the school. We found that people were putting the wrong things in the recycle bins so hopefully our new signs will make it clear for everyone to see what they can recycle! We encourage everyone to discuss the bin system in their own homes. You might even find you're throwing things away that could be recycled. As always, everyone is welcome to attend the Green Team in Miss Hawkins' room on a Friday at lunchtime. This week we will be working on the Junior sensory garden!
Happy recycling!
Little Free Library
A huge thank you to all those who voted for us in the Leader Local Grants. Last Thursday, Miss Hawkins and Miss Baxter attended the awards ceremony at the Langham Hotel in the city. We felt very proud to be representing Kingswood Primary School and privileged to be amongst such inspiring community groups.
It was so rewarding to hear about the community project ideas from people all over the state. We ended up in the top 3 for the Moorabin/Kingston area. Even though we didn't win the grant, Nagle College VCAL group from Bairnsdale have kindly offered to build us a Little Free Library! We are very grateful for this partnership with a country school and can't wait to see the finished product in the school yard for our Kingswood families to share books!
