Hola y bienvenidos a Agua Salada!

It is great to see that our students continue to develop the ability to adapt to new situations and demonstrate the attributes of the IB learner profile.

In the classroom we continued practicing the good morning routines and the farewell routine in the afternoon... It is a way to encourage students to practice the language and to put it to use outside the classroom.

In our weekly lessons, students continued to review and practice:

  • numeros (numbers),
  • colores (colours), (, greetings in Spanish,
  • partes del cuerpo (Parts of the body),
  • saludos (greetings),
  • the alphabet in Spanish

and increasing their vocabulary by learning about:

       - most common verbs in Spanish,

       - daily phrases commonly used at school and at home,

       - how to ask and respond to questions In Spanish.

Using ICT students have been researching how to make a Piñata.

To make connections with some of the speaking countries in South and central America, we have been leaning about some cultural celebrations of the Spanish speaking community and some students have discovered a direct connection to their own culture.

We have been learning about the history of the Piñata and how it has become an important element of the Mexican Culture.
